Welcome to Uptime Overlord! Thanks for downloading Uptime Overlord. What is Uptime Overlord ? Uptime Overlord is a web server monitor. You use it to check that your websites are up and running. You can run reports to see exactly what's going on, like Requirements Uptime Overlord Client and Server There are two parts to Uptime Overlord, called the client and the server. To use Uptime Overlord, you install the server, and just leave it running all the time. To view the data which the server has collected, you start up an Uptime Overlord Client. How to Install Uptime Overlord Server Double-click on the installer package in this folder. This will start the installer. You will need root access to do this install. The server is installed into the folder /Library/StartupItems/UptimeOverlord. To Start Uptime Overlord Client Double-click on the Uptime Overlord Client. This starts a web browser window. Then you can add (and delete) web sites to monitor, and run reports. You can drag the Uptime Overlord Client to wherever you want. For example, you may like to put it in your Applications folder. How to Uninstall Uptime Overlord Server If you don't want to use Uptime Overlord, you can uninstall it with the Uninstall script. You run this on the command line, using terminal or xterm.
