QUAD Help Desk Client Server Edition 2006 - copyright 2006, Dennis Baggott and Sons

Thank you for your interest in QUAD HD CS 2006.

This editon of QUAD Help Desk was designed for those that already use Microsoft's SQL Server 2005
or Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition. In order to use this program you will need to have one
or the other installed on your LAN - or download the free Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express Edition -
it is not included in this download. http://www.microsoft.com/sql/editions/express/default.mspx 

Please print and read the user manual contained in this .zip file in .pdf format. You will need the free Adobe
Reader software to view that file.



This zip file contains:

1) - An .sql script file. is provided. You will need to create a database then execute the attached .sql
script to create the database table structure. NOTE: I have provided the script in 2005 format, if you need
a script for an earlier version of Microsoft SQL Server email me at dbandsons@aol.com and I will create
one for your older version of MS SQL Server.

2) - An .ini file named quadcs.ini - the same file is installed by the setup procedure. You will need to edit
the .ini file with your connection information and save it to the windows directory on each computer where
you will use QUAD HD CS 2006. In some of my other software I have used ODBC DSN names for the
database connection. In this program I am using the Native SQL driver and hope that simply editing the
.ini file with your connection information will be easier. You can check your settings from within the program
by clicking Help, About. I recommend after you have tried the program for a while to not use an SA account,
but create a database owner login and password for your QUADHDCS database (or whatever you named
the database).

3) - There are two setup files inside this .zip file. One file, setupcs.exe, includes user login and security.
The files used for the logins and so on are not created or maintained in MS SQL Server. They are small files
which must be in the same folder as the .exe file. The other file, setupnl.exe is for those of you who may not
want to use logins and procedure security. Perhaps you are the only person that will be using the program.
You may want to install both versions and see which you (and your staff) prefer.

4) - Finally, I have included a user's manual in .pdf format. This file is also installed when you run the setup files,
but I really think it may be worth your time (paper and toner) to print this manual before you start installing/using
the program. So even though this may seem redundant and makes the download a little larger, I thought it might
be helpful to have the manual included directly inside the .zip file as well. You will need PDF reader software
installed, visit http://www.adobe.com  if you don't already have it installed.

I have developed, in addition to the windows applications included in this .zip file, a browser based interface for
QUAD Help Desk Client Server Edition 2006. Designed to run on Microsoft's IIS, the web interface will allow you
and your staff, to view and add caller information and add and update calls from callers using any modern browser.
A page is also included which would allow a "caller" to instead of calling you on the phone, submit a request via
browser. This web application is similar to others I have developed, such as for AccessAble Help Desk Pro and
Client Server Editions and for Proactive Customer Support. However, I have decided NOT to include it in this download.
I will instead offer the web page setup as a free GIFT to those of you who purchase a license for QUAD Help Desk
Client Server Edition 2006 and may like to have the additional web interface. A live demonstration of the web
interface will be on my web site soon at http://www.dbandsons.com 

NOTE: Unlike some of my other web interfaces, there is not a "login" feature for callers to use a login and password
to view and track their requests. Instead, after adding a request they will see a web page (which you can edit) that
just tells them their request has been received and your staff will be working on it. However, you and your staff
members can have web logins and web passwords to be able to view all calls, or calls assigned to me - similar to
the windows application.

As always, I welcome emails from customers and potential customers. Some of the features from QUAD Help Desk
Pro Edition have not been included in the Client Server Edition. If you have tried both editions and find something you
prefer about one as opposed to the other, I would be glad to hear from you. If you have any problems or questions as
