USER INFORMATION AND MANUAL
Dear Customer,
Thank you for purchasing this low-cost version of GeckoMapper 2.5, the superb software that lets you encrypt your email messages before sending them over the internet. This manual contains important information on installing and using this product.
CONTENTS
The following is a glossary of some terms used in this program manual:
Source Code refers to the document which contains the actual program lines as written in the particular programming language with which this software was created. The source code is protected by Copyright Laws and is not to be reviewed and/or modified by anyone without the express written permission of the author(Chidiebere M. Dimkpa, of geckoSoft Inc.). The source code for this software is a 520-page document consisting of 27,680 lines of program code.
OLAAT means "One-Line-At-A-Time". It is the philosophy on which this software was built, and means that when messages are being encrypted/translated, the message cannot be imported in bulk into the encrypter or translator, but must be entered one line at a time. Any attempt at bulk insertion will produce an error message. The user is advised to limit the size of a "line" to 12 words and no more.
Compiler is the engine on which the software must run. Without the compiler, the program is a worthless assembly of jargon language which means nothing to the computer. The compiler assembles the program code, and translates it into a machine-readable form. The compiler on which this program runs is that of the liberty BASIC programming Language.
Developer refers to the person or group of people who created this program. This program was single-handedly developed by Chidiebere M. Dimkpa of geckoSoft Inc.

Self-Extractor is a program developed by the makers of WinZip TM File Compression Software. The Self-Extractor is used to zip and package programs and files for distribution. This program is packed in a self-extractor (gmap.exe)
License is a legal document stating the usership terms and conditions which the user must abide by at all times. A violation of the provisions of a license may lead to breach of usership contract and ensuing legal prosecution.
Encryption Device is a module in this program which allows the user to encrypt the lines of message to be sent over the internet.
Translation Device is an associated module within this program that allows the reciever of a message encrypted using GeckoMapper 2.5 to decode such a message and read it in normal english.
Notepad is one of Microsoft's word-processing software (notepad.exe), it is found on every system running on a windows OS. It is used exclusively in this program for writing to, and reading from files.

Encryption File is the file "c:\windows\desktop\gmap\encryption.txt" to which all encrypted messages are written. The location of this file is hard-wired in the program and cannot be changed.
